Human Resource management (HRM) is the strategic approach to nurturing and supporting employees and ensuring a positive workplace environment. A well-motivated workforce has been noted to be very essential in achieving corporate goals. This study sought to assess the effect of human resource management practices on the performance of the media houses in Sunyani. This study used a cross-sectional case study method which adopted the mixed methods approach. Both purposive and simple random techniques were used to recruit two hundred respondents selected from media houses in Sunyani for this study. From the study, it was revealed that training and development policy exist in the media houses but not accessible to the employees. Employees are not sure of any existing office that is in charge of executing training and development programs in the media houses. This study concluded that, HRM practices have a significant effect on the satisfaction of employees in the media houses. This study therefore, recommends that training policy document should be circulated in all departments of the media houses to enable employees of the company know the content of the policy.
