ABSTRACTFamily planning (FP) helps people to plan and achieve their desired number of children, spacing and timing of their births. The study was conducted to assess the factors influencing utilisation of family planning services among WIFA in the Ahafo Ano North Municipality. A cross-sectional and community-based study was conducted in the Ahafo Ano North Municipal, Tepa. WIFA were selected at the community level using convenient sampling technique. The study approach was quantitative, and questionnaire was used to collect data among the women. Data collected was analyzed using SPSS package version 21.0. It involved a descriptive analysis where data was presented in a form of tables and charts. The findings revealed that, even though respondents were generally satisfied with provider attitude, privacy and confidentiality measures, infertility and uterine fibroid were major determinants of utilisation of FPS. Majority of respondents indicated that providers provide privacy (99.3%) and confidentiality (92.7%). Majority of the respondents 203 (66.9%) were satisfied with the friendly attitude of providers. Peer influence 190 (62.7%) also affected client contraceptive use. However, most women perceived infertility (44.7%) and uterine fibroid (34.1%) as determinants of contraceptive use. Decisions of contraceptive choice were influenced by counselling 292 (96.1%) and side effects 285 (94.1%) of contraceptives. There is the need to sustain the privacy, confidentiality, and friendly attitude/reception of service providers that enhanced FPS utilisation. The study recommends that there should be extensive FP counselling on misconceptions and side effects of contraceptives to help improve utilisation of FPS in the Municipality.
