ABSTRACTThis research examined the impact of public library services on students in the Sunyani Municipality who patronize the libraries. The researcher employed a descriptive survey design in which a simple random sampling technique was employed to choose 200 individuals to provide data for the study. This figure comprised 160 students and 40 staff members. Questionnaire and structured interview schedule were the means of data collection tools. The instruments were pre-tested on the staff and students of users of library services in the Techiman municipality. The main research data generated for the study was analysed by using Statistical Product for Service Solution (SPSS) version 23. Descriptive statistics was employed in the data analysis and the results obtained are presented in tables. The results of the data analysed showed that the public library services have significant impact on the users. Both users of the library services and the staff hold the view that the libraries offer invaluable services to students to improve their studies of the English language as they have assorted English Language resources at the facilities. The libraries also various services to the patrons. The respondents however pointed out some teething challenges confronting the delivery and utlisation of the library services in the facilities including inadequacy of some resources, poor human relation on the part of staff, among others. The study recommends, among others, the library management should organise a workshop for the library staff to train them on human relations. The government should endeavour to stock the library with current English language books and other materials to enhance implementation of Senior High School English Language. The government should build ultramodern library in Sunyani since the municipality lacks available infrastructural facilities and stock them with new materials.
