ABSTRACTThis research aimed at investigating the effect of financial inclusion on poverty reduction among low-income rural households in Jaman North District in Bono Region. The research adopted a descriptive survey design by using quantitative research approach. The researcher used purposive and convenience sampling to engage sixty-six (66) low-income earners in Jaman North District which represent hundred percent (75%) of the population for the study. The researcher used questionnaire as his main data collection instrument and a structured questionnaire was used to collect data from the employees. The data gathered from the questionnaire were analyzed by using SPSS software. Descriptive statistics method (mean, standard deviation), as well as correlation and regression analysis, was used for analyzing data obtained from the questionnaires. The result of the analysis was however presented using bar chat and tables. In general, findings gathered revealed that the benefits of financial inclusion on poverty reduction among low-income earners in Jaman North District. Some of these benefits are; financial inclusion improves household income, aids assets building, enhances increased financial security, reduces vulnerability and serves as an avenue for job creation. Again, the study also discovered that financial inclusion aid in poverty reduction of low-income earners in Jaman North District through its significant effects. The study concluded that financial inclusion faced some challenges that hinders its effective implementation of poverty reduction among low-income rural households. Notable among them are lack of financial literacy leading to low knowledge of financial inclusion, poor commitment and competencies of financial services, lack of branches of financial institutions in some rural or urban areas, and banks operation in high cost leading to lack of usage of financial inclusion.
