INTRODUCTIONThis script is about Miss. Samuella Antwi, a 6 year old pupil, who was admitted to the Emergency Ward at Municipal Hospital by Dr. Apaloo on the 10th of October, 2020. Mother complained of child vomiting, having fever, diarrhea and loss of appetite of which she was diagnosed as having Malaria upon the performance of further investigations. Child looked ill, feverish, pallor and moderately dehydrated. They were warmly received into, the ward, mother and child were provided chairs to sit on. Patient was identified by her name and put into an already prepared admission bed.The patient was managed on anti-malarial , analgesics, IV fluids and multivitamins. The following laboratory investigations; Blood Film for Malaria Parasite, Full Blood Count and Routine Stool R/E were done.Miss Samuella Antwi, was cared for using the nursing process; which is an organized scientific approach to the nursing care. She responded well to treatment and was discharged home in an improved condition. My interactions with Samuella and mother, began on the 10th of October 2020 and ended on the 12th of October 2020 when she was discharged home.
