Patient ParticularsOduro Ernest is a 6-year-old boy. He is a Ghanaian of the Bono ethnic group. He lives with his parents in Akrofrom, a suburb of Techiman in the Bono East region. He was born on 6th October 2014. He is slim and dark in complexion. He is the third born of three siblings, client speaks bono his mother tongue and English language but not fluently and a Christian. He is currently primary 1 pupil at Methodist school in Akrofom which is not far from his house. He was admitted into the Pediatric ward of the Holy Family hospital-Techiman on 22nd November 2020 with the diagnosis of Gastritis Medical and Socio– Economic HistoryAccording to the mother, there are no chronic or hereditary diseases such as hypertension, epilepsy, diabetes, mental illness and the like in their family line. However, like any other persons, they sometimes suffer mild ailments including headache, common cold and abdominal pains.The client is a dependent on the parents for his basic needs of health care, shelter, food and education. The father, Mr. Oduro Christian is a teacher while the mother is a trader. Client’s Developmental HistoryThe mother said she carried her pregnancy to term and gave birth through spontaneous vaginal delivery under the supervision of a midwife at the Akrofrom health center without any complications. The baby cried immediately after birth. She then attended to postnatal clinic satisfactorily after delivery at the Akrofrom health center. Baby was breast fed exclusively for six months, after which he was subsequently introduced to complementary foods like corn porridge and mashed yam with stew. The client has completed all the childhood immunization against the childhood killer diseases. He sat around four months, crawled around six months and primary dentition started at seven months. The client walked as early as the ninth months and he currently plays actively with friends.
