INTRODUCTIONThis patient family care study was carried out on a 7 year old Miss Rose Yeboah with a medical diagnosis of severe anaemia with haemoglobin of 4.2g/dl. The care of Miss Rose Yeboah began on 5th October, 2020 when she was admitted to the pediatrics ward of the St. Matthew's hospital, Dormaa Ampenkro Patient came to the ward accompanied by her parents and a student nurse from the OPD. They were warmly welcomed and offered sits, her particulars on the folder were verified and documented into the admission and discharge book, and also the daily ward state. A simple unoccupied bed and was prepared for miss Rose and she was made comfortable in bed On admission, Miss. Rose complained of difficulty in breathing, chest pain, anorexia, dizziness and body weakness. On direct observation, she was warm to touch, pale, looking ill, and very weak. The following laboratory investigations were done; haemoglobin estimation, Blood film for malaria parasites, Grouping and Cross Matching and Sickling test were carried out.
