AbstractMedical health record keeping is a very important component of healthcare service delivery in every country and to be specific, Ghana for that matter Sunyani municipality. When medical records are managed well, it’s speed up service delivery, prevent inequality and provided quality data for planning and policy making. Most developed countries have benefited enormously from good medical records keeping but that scenario cannot be applied to developing countries such as Ghana. This research was done to assess the perceived effect of medical records keeping on healthcare delivery in the Sunyani municipality. This was a cross sectional study design using quantities research tools. Convenient sampling method was use to sample 171 respondents from the ages 17 years and above. SPSS 25.0 and Exel 2016 was use as data analysis tools for the data analysis. Our findings show that, paper-based medical records keeping is the most dominant medical records keeping system with a percentage of 87%. Even though respondents are not happy about the kind of services the system delivers, they still utilize those facilities.
