Self-esteem and choice of course among Junior high school students in Bono East Region's Techiman North District were explored in this study. The research was carried out using a descriptive cross-sectional survey. Stratified and simple random sampling method were used select a sample of 310 students to participate in the study. Mean and standard deviation as well as Pearson's correlations were utilized to arrive at the following significant findings: that the students investigated had a very low level of self-esteem due to the fact that the grand mean was estimated from the latent variable (low self-esteem). Students' self-esteem was found to have a favorable link with their choice of Senior high school course of study. High socio-economic status, good health, and inspiration from peers were all shown to have an impact on self-esteem, according to the study. As a result of the findings, educators at Techiman North's Education Directorate were advised to help students gauge their degree of self-worth so that they may make better choices about the courses they should take to further their education.
