ABSTRACTNotwithstanding the advances in project management methodologies, many projects continue to fail. In part, a project’s success or failure relies on effectively managing the constraints of scope, time, costs, and quality expectations. To achieve this, the project managers must possess and exhibit appropriate project management leadership. The study considered leadership experience, leadership skills, and control, and examined their impact on realising project goals. The study's specific objectives were to determine the effect of leadership experience, leadership skills, and leadership control in achieving project goals. The researcher adopted a descriptive research design for the study. The study targeted a population of 120 respondents who are involved in undertaking projects at Asanduff Construction Company, and a sample size of 90 respondents was considered. Data was collected by the use of questionnaires which were distributed to the respondents. Quantitative data collected was analysed by the use of descriptive statistics such as percentages, frequencies, means and standard deviations. The study concluded that there was a significant relationship between leadership experience, leadership skills, and leadership control in achieving project goals at Asanduff Construction Company; project management control significantly influenced the achievement of project goals. The findings of the research are very essential to policy makers in formulating policies aimed at enhancing project leadership. The findings of this study will also add to the body of knowledge on the effects of leadership on the performance of projects. The researcher recommended that all project staff should obtain leadership skills among others; project staff should be given the opportunity to gain relevant experience to ensure project success; clear definition of staff duties, setting of clear goals among other leadership control factors should be established. Since this study investigated experience, skills and control, the researcher recommends that further studies should target the other factors that influence the realisation of project goals.
