ABSTRACTThe main goal of this study is to examine the effects of talent management on employee commitment among workers of Mantrac Ghana Ltd at the Ahafo MARC site. The study employed quantitative approach to achieve this study goal. The target population was made up of all employees of Mantrac Ghana Ltd talent pool in the Ahafo mine site of Newmont Gold Ghana Limited. The study used the census sampling technique to invite all the employees (143) of the company to participate in the study. This study made use of the questionnaires as the only research instruments for data collection. The study used both inferential and descriptive statistics to analyze data obtained with the help of SPSS. The study revealed that the company’s talent management strategies such as talent attraction, talent retention, career management and learning and development were highly used to secure employee commitment. It was also revealed that talent retention had a significant relationship with affective commitment while talent attraction, career management and learning and development had no significant relationships with affective commitment. Also, talent retention, career management and learning and development significantly influenced employee continuance commitment. That career management and learning and development significantly influenced employee continuance commitment. The study recommends to the company to keep working on and improving the talent management strategies including talent attraction, retention, career management, and learning and development to not only attract and retain skillful, experienced and talented workforce, but to secure workers commitment.
